Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers are used for a multitude of reasons. All Florida Fire Equipment has the inventory to cover all your extinguisher needs. Anything from a home, kitchen, office, firework display, vehicle, marine vessel extinguishers, etc. Following The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), our licensed technicians can also service all your existing extinguishers and keep them updated.

They are inspected and certified annually, with maintenance typically performed every six and twelve years. Being located in Pinellas County, we can make this process quick and easy. Walk-in services are offered Monday through Friday, where inspection and maintenances are done right on the spot. No need to make an appointment; one of our friendly office staff will be able to take care of it, and it only takes about five minutes.

Annual inspections will include visually assessing the external structure, examining the gauge to ensure optimum pressure, replacing the tamper seal around the pull pin, and attaching a certification tag stating it was inspected by a licensed professional.

Recharges: A recharge will be performed when you have used your extinguisher or it has reached six years from the manufacturer date. Following the annual inspection process, internal maintenance will be done as well. Removing the chemical from within and examining the internal structure of the cylinder for fractures or contaminants. We remove any dirt and debris from the hose line, ensuring it’s clean and clear. New chemicals will be added, and the cylinder will be repressurized.

Hydrostatic Testing: All Florida Fire Equipment is one of the largest DOT (Department of Transportation) hydrostatic testing facilities in the Tampa Bay area. We can hydro-test not only your extinguishers but almost any other cylinder with a DOT number, from scuba tanks, paintball tanks, oxygen tanks, Kegerators, nitrogen, Co2, SCBA, and more.

When it comes to your extinguisher, a hydrostatic test will be performed once it reaches twelve years, based on the manufacturer’s guidelines. This process is more extensive to ensure the cylinder can withstand the pressure inside. The hydrostatic test will begin if it passes the internal and external visual examination. The cylinder is placed inside a water jacket and pressurized more with water added by a high-pressure pump. Specific measurements are taken then the water returns to normal pressure. Qualified extinguishers will then be refilled and repressurized; The valve and O-ring will be replaced, and the certification stickers will be attached.

While we take care of these services in-house, you don’t have to wait and be without your extinguisher. We’ll swap your extinguisher for an already maintenanced one, matching the make and model and making the whole process quick and easy for our customers. Just another way All Florida Fire is dedicated to keeping you and your business safe and protected at all times.

Exit & Emergency Lighting

Something that gets overlooked but is very important is exit and emergency lights. It is imperative that they are in good working order. Our licensed technicians will check the backup battery, light bulbs, and quality of the unit. Replacing the unit if needed or installing a new one in your location. After this is completed, they will attach a certification sticker stating it has been inspected.

Fire Suppression System

An automatic fire suppression system is designed to extinguish a fire without assistance. Stopping a small fire from becoming a large one that would have caused damage and cost lives. All Florida Fire Equipment has the knowledge and expertise to install a new system or update an existing system.

With installing a new system, we try to make the process as quick and easy as possible. The technician will go to your location to take measurements of your hood and cooking area. Drawings will be made up and submitted to the City of Pinellas Park for approval. Once that has been completed, we can install the system, typically done in one day. We’ll schedule an appointment with the Fire Marshal for the final test and have you up and running in no time.

Using all the top brands such as PyroChem, Amerex, Ansul, Range Guard, Protex, etc. We always have the products and materials in stock to service and maintain your system. Fire suppression systems are not just for kitchens; they are also used in paint booths. Being in close proximity to tools such as welders, cutters, or grinders, paint mist can quickly cause a fire. The proper system installed and maintained can protect your employees and business from harm.

A technician will evaluate your paint booth and select a system that best fits your needs. Our most popular brand for paint booths is the PyroChem Monarch system. We also carry the Kidde and Ansul R101 if that best fits your needs. Designed to operate automatically, they will alert you of fire and stop oxygen flow to the paint booth, snuffing out the flame.

It should be checked semiannually and maintained according to NFPA Standard 33 and manufacturer guidelines like any other system.
